Who Can Participate?
ESOL
classes are available for adult non-native speakers of
English who are in the United States permanently or just
visiting. The program consists of six levels and each
offers reading, writing, speaking and listening in ongoing
sessions held daily and also twice weekly in the evening.
The emphasis of the program is to assist students in learning
or improving American spoken English. Absolute beginners
to advanced levels are welcome.
How
do I enroll?
All
new students must come to one of the registration/interview
times; students will enter the appropriate class as soon
as there is an opening. Entry to a level is based upon
test scores, and writing and speaking ability. If there
is no room in the level, the student's name is placed
on a waiting list and students are contacted when there
is an opening. Students are withdrawn for a series of
unexcused absences. The Adult Learning Center is not able
to provide childcare or transportation. Please
come to the registration with the appropriate government-issue ID for proof of residency and the non-refundable registration fee or
tuition payment. Please consider all the sessions
as possible class times; there may be a waiting list at
certain sessions due to the large number of students desiring
ESOL.
