2300 ONE-ON-ONE PERSONAL COACHING FOR PUBLIC SPEAKING

Experienced and successful public speaker will work with students on a one-on-one basis to help overcome fears and build confidence, while providing an introduction to the world of public speaking in a warm and caring manner. Each session is tailor-made to the needs of the student. Place and times vary according to the needs of the student and instructor. A great place to start for instant improvement in your ability to speak in public. Novice or proficient speakers will benefit greatly from this personalized training. This course is available throughout the semester. Online registration is not available; you may register by mail, fax (306-0999), or in person at the Adult Learning Center, 4160 Virginia Beach Boulevard. The instructor will contact you to arrange a class time, date, and approved location. Additional hours may be purchased at $30 per hour.

2304 OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF PUBLIC SPEAKING

Has your professional career or community and social life taken a "hit" because of your fear of speaking in public? When you stand up to speak to a group does your brain go on "holiday"? This course is designed to help alleviate and eliminate those fears and inhibitions while building confidence in your ability to be a public speaker. Led by a Distinguished Toastmaster and professional auctioneer an interactive approach is done in a caring and non-critical manner. Upon completion of this course each student will realize that butterflies can "fly in formation". Public speaking experience is not necessary - but willingness to improve is required.
