4301 AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE 1

Learn the fundamentals of fingerspelling and American Sign Language vocabulary. Develop skills for communication with deaf people through an introduction of the linguistic aspects of ASL. Explore and develop understanding in gesture, body language, facial expressions, and other aspects of non-verbal communication. This course is for people with NO knowledge, or very little knowledge of ASL.

3700 ONE-ON-ONE LANGUAGE TUTORING

This one-on-one will help you get the most out of learning a language in your individual style. Perfect your language skills with personal attention and immediate conversational feedback in a casual, relaxed and informal atmosphere. (Grammar may or may not be included). Please indicate your language choice on the registration form. This course is available throughout the semester. Online registration is not available; you may register by mail, fax (306-0999), or in person at the Adult Learning Center, 4160 Virginia Beach Boulevard. The instructor will contact you to arrange a class time, date, and approved location.
Additional hours may be purchased at $30 per hour.
