Teacher Recertification Points
CEU's from Old Dominion University

The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized unit of measure for participation in non-credit continuing education programs.  Adults who participate in Adult Learning Center programs for Continuing Education Units will have a permanent transcript and certificate of CEU’s from Old Dominion University which may be useful for promotion, employment or certification purposes.

The CEU is defined as ten contract hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.The CEU can be awarded in whole units or fractions of a unit.

In this catalog, CEU values are listed under applicable courses.  Applications for participation will be available at the first class meeting.  Ask your instructor for a form.  There is a $20 fee for each application for participation.  CEU’s and CPE’s are listed at the end of each course description.  CPE’s are learning credits specifically for accountants.

For teachers seeking re-certification, 1 CEU is equal to 10 re-certification points.  Consult you advisor for approval of any course being used to satisfy recertification requirements.
